Crinum x herbertii 'Schreck'

Crinum Lily

Plant Type:

BULBS

Crinum x herbertii 'Schreck' – Gorgeous pink and white Crinum Lily trumpets begin their reign late May to early June and continue throughout the summer. The pink to cherry heart at the center of each petal extends like a flame both inside and on the petal reverse. The broad margins of each petal are white completing the fetching two-tone effect. Though it would be perfectly fine with us 'Schreck' is actually from the Schreck family of Texas and not the Shrek of animated anti-hero fame. But if it were what an ogre it would be! Its parentage is C. bulbispermum x C. scabrum. Full sun in fertile, draining soil. Keep it drier in winter especially in pot culture. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is strongly advised. Pot grown bulb.
